KitsuneFruit · Mythical
Kitsune is a top-tier fruit that combines speed, damage and flashy effects.
It has a unique Kitsune Tails meter; building up tails grants stage bonuses, and once it's full you can turn into the full Kitsune form.
Z no longer breaks Instinct and can now be dodged with Instinct; on hit, X must play out its full animation, and you can't use other skills until it ends; C's endlag is increased by 0.3 seconds.
The English Wiki currently treats Empyrean Kitsune as a Mutation of Kitsune, not just a recolor skin. It has its own way to obtain it and doesn't share the original Kitsune's Mastery. For availability, skill differences and trading tips, see the Empyrean Kitsune Mutation Guide.
📍 1. How to Get & Role
This is a Mythical fruit and one of the most expensive fruits right now.
- Shop price: $8,000,000 Beli / 4,000 Robux.
- Obtainment: Blox Fruit Dealer (rotating stock) / Blox Fruit Gacha (the First Sea gacha moved to Middle Town after Update 30) / spawns under trees on the map (Physical fruit) / offering Azure Ember at the Kitsune Shrine (very low chance).
- Role:
- PvP (S+): high mobility, damage reduction while transformed, and its foxfire is great for chasing and pressuring.
- Leveling (S): has M1 attacks and AoE skills, so it levels reliably in all three Seas; but the high Mastery requirements are tough on low-level players.
- Travel (S+): very strong movement speed and dashes when transformed, and you can run on water as long as you keep moving.
💥 2. Skills
Kitsune's skills revolve around blue foxfire, offering both ranged poke and close-range burst.
| Key | Skill name | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| M1 | Normal Attack |
Unlock: no Mastery needed Swings blue foxfire slashes; hit 4 is a whirlwind slash, and hit 5 is a downward strike on the ground (a kick in the air). At three tails it adds blue flame damage over time; a full 5-hit string uses about 7.5% of the Kitsune Tails meter. |
| Z | Accursed Enchantment |
Unlock: 1 Mastery Summons blue foxfire that wraps around the target it hits and damages it multiple times; if it misses, it creates a small AoE attack nearby. Since Balance Patch 001, the untransformed version no longer breaks Instinct and can be dodged with Instinct. |
| X | Tails of Burning Agony |
Unlock: 50 Mastery Untransformed, it attacks with zigzagging fox tails and briefly stuns; since Balance Patch 001, it must play out its full animation on hit, and you can't use other skills until it ends. Transformed, it grabs the target, carries them into the air and slams them down. |
| C | Fox Fire Disruption |
Unlock: 100 Mastery Fires a charged blue fireball that deals more damage on a direct hit; exploding near the ground leaves foxfire behind and breaks Instinct. Balance Patch 001 increased the untransformed endlag by 0.3 seconds. |
| V | Transformation |
Unlock: 300 Mastery Uses 30% of the visible Kitsune Tails meter to turn into the full Kitsune form; the transformation animation protects you from normal damage for about 1 seconds. This is not a Raid awakening. |
| F | Wild Assault |
Unlock: 200 Mastery A high-speed dash; on hit, it follows up with a flurry of fox claw strikes. Good for chasing, close-range burst or finishing. |
While untransformed, tails build up passively, and dealing damage speeds it up; purely passively, you gain one tail about every 1 min 40 sec, filling all three in about 5 minutes. Missing with skills or M1 drains the meter, though M1 drains less.
Once transformed, it no longer builds passively and can only be refilled by dealing damage with Kitsune skills; taking any damage (including lava and water) also gradually drains it. At two tails, movement speed rises to about 2x; at three tails, F and M1 add blue flame damage over time.
At the Kitsune Shrine in the Third Sea, offer Azure Ember; English sources currently put the chance of getting a Physical Kitsune fruit at about 0.1% (about 1/1,000).
Quick tip: this method is very luck-based; the more reliable route is still waiting for the shop rotation or rolling the Gacha. Actual odds depend on the current game.
🎮 3. Combat Tips
- 2-tail stage: movement speed rises to about 2x and your dash gets stronger too, good for creating distance or chasing.
- 3-tail stage: F and M1 add blue flame damage over time, and your damage rotation comes together.
- Full Kitsune form: gain about 20% damage reduction and shorter skill cooldowns; you can run on water while moving and carry one teammate.
- Managing tails: the meter builds passively while untransformed, and dealing damage speeds it up; missed skills drain it, so don't spam skills aimlessly before a fight.
❓ FAQ
Is Kitsune good for leveling?
Yes. Kitsune has M1 attacks, and once transformed it moves fast with good range and attack rhythm, so it works for leveling in all three Seas; but low-level players may get stuck on the Mastery requirements.
Can Kitsune run on water?
In full Kitsune form you can run on water as long as you keep moving, but stopping still risks falling in; during Sea Events and Raids, also watch for your Kitsune Tails meter dropping and getting focused down.
Is the Kitsune Shrine guaranteed to give you a Kitsune fruit?
No. English sources currently put the chance of a Physical Kitsune fruit at about 0.1% (about 1/1,000), so don't rely on it as your only way to get one; actual odds depend on the current game.
Is Empyrean Kitsune a Kitsune skin?
This site covers Empyrean Kitsune as a separate Mutation guide. It isn't just a cosmetic recolor skin; for how to get it, tips and trading advice, see the dedicated Empyrean Kitsune page.
