Blox Fruits Beginner Guide: Fruits, Stats & Leveling Basics

When you first start, take a quest before fighting enemies; put your points into one main damage stat, and keep Melee and Defense up too. You don't need a rare fruit or an account on this site to follow the route below.

1Take a quest, check your target

Find the quest giver on the island, take a quest that matches your level, then defeat the listed enemies. Before moving to another island, check the level requirement for the next quest.

2Pick one main attack

If you fight with fruit skills, focus on Blox Fruit; if you use a Fighting Style, focus on Melee. Don't split your points evenly between Blox Fruit, Sword and Gun.

3Pick a leveling fruit that suits you

Light is great for traveling and Ice has crowd-control moves. Look at the normal attack, skill requirements and how you like to play before deciding whether to switch fruits.

Fruit M1; elemental immunity has conditions

✅ 2026 beginner plan: level up first, don't rush to get pricey fruits

Based on the English community Wiki and common guides, the safest plan for beginners is: use an Elemental fruit for quests in the First Sea, then consider switching to Buddha from the Second Sea on. Rare or Mythical fruits aren't always good early on, since many of their skills need high Mastery, and beginners who eat them can end up stuck.

Stage Recommendation Why
First Sea
About Lv.1–700
Light, Ice, other Elemental fruits Fast travel and safe fighting make them good for leveling straight through the quests. Light comes with flight, making it the most beginner-friendly.
Second Sea
About Lv.700–1500
Buddha; awaken the Z move first if you can Buddha's transformation gives your normal attacks huge range for steady leveling; after awakening the first move, it's even better for long grinding sessions.
Third Sea
Lv.1500+
Keep leveling with Buddha, then switch to a PvP fruit later Get your level, Fighting Styles, Fragments and key items sorted first; PvP builds feel much better after that.

Quick note: the level cap may change between versions, so this site breaks things down by First / Second / Third Sea instead of relying on fixed numbers.

📘 Site Glossary: Common Game Terms

We keep the same set of names across the site, so you can easily cross-reference guides, the value list and the player market.

English Name on this site Quick explanation
First Sea / Second Sea / Third SeaFirst Sea / Second Sea / Third SeaPlayers often shorten these to Sea 1, Sea 2 and Sea 3.
ElementalElementalOnce you meet the level requirement, you become immune to some NPC normal attacks, which saves a lot of HP early on.
LightLightA great fruit for leveling and getting around in the First Sea.
BuddhaBuddhaA common main leveling fruit from the Second Sea on.
AuraAura (players often call it Haki)Increases your damage and lets you hit Elemental players and enemies.
InstinctInstinctLets you dodge attacks; used a lot later for bosses and PvP.
FragmentsFragmentsA key currency from the Second Sea on, used for awakenings, race rerolls and more.
Water Kung FuWater Kung FuA common leveling Fighting Style, and part of the later Fighting Style progression.

🏴‍☠️ 1. Pirates or Marines at the start?

When you first join, the game asks if you want to join the Pirates or the Marines.
The difference is actually small. Pick the same side as your friends, or you won't be able to team up and might hit each other by accident.

Faction Features
Pirates
The more popular pick, since this game is basically One Piece! From Lv.300 you can create your own Crew; defeating players or bosses builds up Bounty, and you may lose Bounty when you're defeated.
Marines
Ships are faster and half the price, and Marines can't attack each other, so it suits players who want to level in peace. The downside: you can't create or join a Crew. (Wiki)

🎁 2. Most important: redeem codes first!

The game often gives out codes for double EXP (2x EXP) and stat resets. Codes change quickly, so we keep the latest list on a dedicated page so this guide and the codes page never fall out of sync.

🤔 How to redeem
Tap the gear (Settings) above the compass on the left, find Redeem DLC Code in the settings list, press the Redeem button next to it to open the input box, then enter the code and press Redeem. The layout may differ slightly by platform; if you can't find it, check the Settings menu first. (Wiki; matches the 2026-10-20 gameplay footage)
※ Copy and paste codes to avoid mistakes with capitalization, spaces or characters. If the game shows INVALID, the code has usually expired or was already redeemed.
Beginner tip: once you have 2x EXP, don't just stand around. Take a quest or fight enemies you can reliably beat at your level so the time doesn't go to waste.

📊 3. How should I assign stats? (5 stats in total)

Open Menu > Stats to bring up the stat screen. We recommend assigning the points you earn from leveling up like this:

⚠️ Golden rules for beginners:
1) Always put points in Melee + Defense (running short on Energy/HP is painful)
2) Of the damage stats (Blox Fruit / Sword / Gun), pick one as your main; don't spread points evenly
3) Suggested order: raise your main damage stat first → Defense → Melee
Stat Worth it? Notes
Melee
(Energy)
🔥 Must have This raises your Energy bar (the blue bar). Without it, you'll run out of energy after two moves, so don't skip it!
Defense
(HP)
🔥 Must have This raises your HP (the red bar). If you don't want to die the moment an enemy touches you, level this up too.
👇 For the 3 below, just “pick one” based on how you play 👇
Blox Fruit
(Fruit skills)
🍎 Recommended (fruit build) Top pick for beginners! If you fight with fruit skills, put everything into this.
Sword ⚔️ Average (sword build) Unless you're lucky enough to get a really strong sword, switch to a sword build in the mid-to-late game.
Gun 🔫 Not recommended (gun build) Guns are mainly used to stun people in PvP, so skip this while you're leveling as a beginner.

💡 Put points in the wrong place? Don't worry, you can reset them with a “stat reset code” or through an NPC.

🍎 4. How to pick your first fruit

For beginners leveling in the First Sea, the most important keyword is Elemental.

✨ Elemental advantage:
Elemental immunity doesn't make you invincible. There's still a level requirement against regular enemies, and bosses, Aura attacks and some skills can still damage you. Check how your target attacks first instead of just tanking hits with immunity.
Recommended fruit Why pick it?
🌞 Light Light spear M1s plus the ability to fly make it great for questing, island hopping and leveling in the First Sea. See Light's moves and flight limits.
❄️ Ice Has an ice Trident M1 and crowd-control moves; you still need to dodge against bosses—being Elemental doesn't make you immune to damage. See Ice's moves and Awakening.
🌋 Magma Great at damage over time; early on, its movement and M1s feel different from other fruits, and once awakened it's also a popular pick for sea combat. See when to use Magma.
🧘 Buddha After transforming, you mainly level with Fighting Style or sword M1s, so put your stat points into the weapon you actually use instead of dumping everything into Blox Fruit. Check Buddha's stat build and Awakening first.

🎮 5. Control Tips

Interface guide diagram
The mobile version has more on-screen buttons; on PC, the controls are mapped to keyboard keys.
  • Dash (Q key): for getting around—keep spamming it to travel faster.
  • Air Jump (formerly Skyjump / Space bar): lets you jump several more times in midair (up to 10 times). Head to Frozen Village or Magma Village in the First Sea, where the Ability Teacher sells it for 10,000.
  • Aura (J key): also bought from the Ability Teacher (25,000). When it's on, your arms turn black and your Fighting Style, sword and gun damage goes up—keep it on at all times to build Aura EXP. (Wiki)

🚀 6. What's Next?

Congrats, you've got the basics down! Now it's time to take quests and level up like crazy.

  • ✅ Get to Lv.10 or higher.
  • ✅ Go to Middle Town and roll a fruit at the Blox Fruit Gacha (unlocks at Lv.50, once every 2 hours; since Update 30 the Gacha has moved from the Jungle to Middle Town). (Wiki)
  • ✅ Follow our leveling route to the next island!
