Sand

Elemental 🏖️ Weak Against Air Strong ground control and combos, but it takes double seawater damage and is weaker in air combat and sea activities.
📝 Overview:
Sand is an Elemental fruit with ground control, grabs and combo potential. Awakening greatly improves its range and control,
but it has a clear passive weakness: when submerged in seawater, it takes double the water damage of normal fruits; Shark V1 only brings it back to normal water damage, and you need Shark V2 or higher to avoid it.
Officially confirmed | Balance Patch 001 (Update 29.6, awakened):
X's end lag on hit cut by 40%; C's end lag cut by 60% and hitbox 25% larger; V's vortex pull increased by 100% and cast time cut by 50%; F's flight speed increased by 25%.

📍 1. How to Get & Role

This is an Uncommon Elemental fruit; it's not expensive, and its unawakened Mastery requirements are low.

  • Shop price: $420,000 Beli / 850 Robux.
  • Obtainment: rotating stock at the Blox Fruit Dealer, the Blox Fruit Gacha (the First Sea gacha moved to Middle Town after Update 30), natural fruit spawns or player trading.
  • Role:
    • Leveling (B+): has Elemental Reflex and control moves, but knockback and ground-based hitboxes lower its efficiency for continuous mob clearing.
    • PvP (A): once awakened, it has grabs, launches and long control, great for ground combos.
    • Mobility (C): unawakened F is currently the slowest flight skill; it gets faster after awakening, but it's still not a strong mobility fruit.

💥 2. Skills (Unawakened)

Most of Sand's skills hit along the ground and come with launches or stuns.

Key Skill name Notes
Z Desert Sword
Mastery 1
Creates a straight sand wave along the ground in front of you that launches enemies upward and deals damage on hit; it's not a long-range flying sand blade.
X Desert Funeral
Mastery 40
Creates a quicksand circle on the ground or a wall; a single target who steps on it gets wrapped in a sand ball, pulled into the air and crushed.
C Sand Tornado
Mastery 80
Creates a small sand tornado in front of you that sucks in players in range, deals damage over time, controls them and carries them into the air.
V Heavy Sand
Mastery 120
Throws a sand ball toward your cursor that explodes on contact or at max range, dealing damage and strong knockback.
F Sand Flight
Mastery 15
Turns your legs into sand and flies slowly; in the current version it's the slowest flight skill.
⚠️ Awakening tips:
The Sand fruit can be awakened!
Awakening rounds out its control and hit range; the X move “Sand Coffin” is great for combo follow-ups, and the vortex of the V move “Deep Sand” pulls enemies toward the center.

💎 2-1. Awakening Process & Cost

The Sand fruit is awakened in the Sand Raid; for getting chips, entry requirements and Fragment rewards, see the Complete Raids & Fruit Awakening Guide first.

  1. The Raid rooms are at Hot and Cold in the Second Sea and the Castle on the Sea in the Third Sea. At Level 700+ and once you can reach the Second Sea, you can join Raids others start; to buy a chip from the Mysterious Scientist and host your own, you need to be Level 1100.
  2. Normal chips can be bought for 100,000 Beli (2-hour cooldown), or you can hand over any Physical fruit to skip the cooldown.
  3. With the Sand fruit equipped, clear the Sand Raid, then talk to the Mysterious Entity and spend Fragments to awaken a move; you can only awaken one move each time, and afterward you're sent back to your Home Point.

Here's the awakening order and cost (the game fixes this order: after each clear, the Mysterious Entity only asks whether you want to awaken the “next move” — you can't choose):

  • Awakening 1: Z “Desert Blade” – 500 Fragments
    (running total: about 500 Fragments)
  • Awakening 2: F “Tornado Flight” – 2,000 Fragments
    (running total: about 2,500 Fragments)
  • Awakening 3: X “Sand Coffin” – 3,000 Fragments
    (running total: about 5,500 Fragments)
  • Awakening 4: C “Sandstorm” – 4,000 Fragments
    (running total: about 9,500 Fragments)
  • Awakening 5: V “Deep Sand” – 5,000 Fragments
    (running total: about 14,500 Fragments)

To fully awaken Sand, you need 14,500 Fragments in total.
Awakening any one move earns you the title Desert Prince (#043).

✨ 2-2. Awakened Moves at a Glance

  • Z: Desert Blade | Mastery 1 | 500 Fragments – Forms a fast, long-range sand wave along the ground in front of you that launches and briefly controls targets; you can cast it in the air, but the effect still appears on the ground.
  • F: Tornado Flight | Mastery 15 | 2,000 Fragments – Turns your legs into a small sand tornado to fly, faster than the unawakened version; Balance Patch 001 raised flight speed by another 25%.
  • X: Sand Coffin | Mastery 40 | 3,000 Fragments – Fires two clumps of sand that grab a single target, trapping them in a floating sand ball for about 3 seconds before crushing it in an explosion; after a successful grab you also can't act for a moment, and Balance Patch 001 cut its end lag on hit by 40%.
  • C: Sandstorm | Mastery 80 | 4,000 Fragments – Creates a large, slow-moving cone-shaped sand tornado that deals damage over time, controls enemies and carries them into the air. Balance Patch 001 cut its end lag by 60% and made its hitbox 25% larger.
  • V: Deep Sand | Mastery 120 | 5,000 Fragments – Throws a sand vortex ball crackling with purple electricity that causes a large explosion with high knockback on hit or at max range. Balance Patch 001 increased the vortex pull by 100% and cut the cast time by 50%, so it pulls enemies toward the center more strongly.

🎮 3. Combat Tips

  • PvP combos: awakened X has a long grab, great for following up with weapon moves, but you also freeze briefly after it lands; in team fights you're especially easy for other players to punish.
  • Seawater weakness: Sand takes double seawater damage; Shark V1 only changes it to normal seawater damage, and only Shark V2 or higher removes it.
  • Weak against air: most skills rely on the ground or don't work properly over the sea, so it's at a disadvantage against opponents who stay airborne and in sea activities.

✅ 4. FAQ

  • Does Shark V1 remove Sand's seawater weakness? Not completely; it only lowers double water damage back to normal water damage. You need Shark V2 or higher to be immune.
  • Does unawakened Z stun? No. Desert Sword mainly launches targets from the ground and can't break Instinct; only the awakened Desert Blade briefly stuns targets.
  • Can you follow up right after Sand Coffin grabs someone? Not instantly; you still freeze briefly after a successful grab. Balance Patch 001 cut the end lag on hit by 40%.
