Lightning (formerly Rumble)Fruit · Legendary
Lightning (formerly Rumble) is an extremely mobile fruit that's strong in PvP.
4 orbs charge up behind you (each takes about 5s to recharge, cut to 3s after tier 1 research in the Admin Panel). [Z], [V] and [F] all use orbs, and you can't use [Z] or [F] without any; tap [F] to dash forward or hold it for a chain of teleport attacks. Its skills have large AoE and strong stuns, making it a common pick for both sword and fruit builds.
V tap hitbox −10%; the extra hitbox gained from charging V −25%.
📍 1. How to Get & Role
This is a Legendary Elemental fruit, and it isn't cheap.
- Shop price: $2,100,000 / 2,100 Robux.
- How to get: Lightning was reworked and made purchasable again in Update 27.0, and since Update 29 it also shows up in the dealer's stock, the Gacha and as a natural spawn. Right now you can get it from the Blox Fruit Dealer's stock, the Blox Fruit Gacha (the First Sea Gacha moved to Middle Town after Update 30), natural spawns or player trades. (Wiki)
- Role:
- PvP (S tier): Powerful stuns and teleports make it strong in both 1v1s and team fights.
- Sword support (S tier): Teleports help sword users close in or create distance quickly.
- Leveling (A tier): Big AoE and decent mob-clearing speed, but it still falls behind Buddha and Magma.
💥 2. Skills (Lightning's Reworked Moveset)
Lightning's skills have flashy effects, and most of them stun.
| Key | Skill name | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| M1 | Power Streak | Rapidly fires short-range lightning that can chain between multiple enemies; hits noticeably speed up the recharge of the orbs behind you. |
| Z | Lightning Orb Mastery 1 |
Has three variants: tap, short press (about 0.5s) and hold (at least 1.5s). A tap fires 1 orbs; a short press throws an electric ball that pulls enemies in and then explodes (each uses up 1 of your orbs); a full hold summons a lightning dragon that charges forward and chains between enemies when it hits a group. |
| X | Thunderstorm Mastery 90 |
Summons a thundercloud that keeps striking lightning and stunning enemies. After completing Admin Panel research, you can send Z's orbs into the cloud to extend its duration (tier 2), or send a fully charged Z into it to summon a charging lightning dragon (tier 4). Can't be used under low ceilings. |
| C | Sky Judgement Mastery 160 |
Summons a thundercloud that gives a warning before dropping a powerful lightning pillar; anyone hit is lifted up and stunned. |
| V | Thunderball Destruction Mastery 250 |
Compresses a thundercloud into a lightning ball and drops it (can be charged in several stages); range and damage grow as you charge. Balance Patch 001 shrank the tap hitbox by 10% and the extra hitbox from charging by 25%. |
| F | Electric Flash Mastery 30 |
Instantly zips forward as a bolt of lightning, damaging/stunning enemies in your path (tap and hold have different modes). |
This fruit was renamed Lightning in Update 27.0; Rumble is just its old name.
It no longer uses Raid Awakening; instead, it's upgraded through the Admin Panel.
Completing the four research tiers unlocks, in order, faster orb recharge, a longer-lasting thundercloud, the charged grab and the lightning dragon combo.
🧪 2-1. Admin Panel Upgrades
Lightning can be upgraded in the Admin Panel; you need to reach the required Mastery and complete the research requirements.
- Mastery 200: Arc Discharge Protocol
Research requirement: defeat 25 enemies with M1 (Power Streak).
Effect: orbs recharge faster.
Cost: 1,500 Fragments + Angel Wings ×3. - Mastery 300: Predator Circuit Breaker
Research requirement: defeat 30 Piranha (small enemies found at sea, not Sea Beasts). (Wiki)
Effect: X's thundercloud can absorb Lightning Orb to extend its duration.
Cost: 3,000 Fragments + Electric Wing ×3. - Mastery 400: Capacitor Overload Test
Research requirement: use 200 Charges in total.
Effect: a fully charged Z (stage 3 variant) can grab players and lead into a combo (requires the upgrade).
Cost: 6,000 Fragments + Volt Capsule ×1 + Electric Wing ×5. - Mastery 500: Conductor's Resonance
Research requirement: eat another Lightning fruit while you have Lightning equipped (a physical skin also counts).
Effect: sending a fully charged Z (stage 3) into X's thundercloud creates a bigger lightning dragon that charges toward your crosshair.
Cost: 11,000 Fragments + Volt Capsule ×3 + Electric Wing ×5.
Fully maxed total requirements: Mastery 500, Fragments 21,500, Volt Capsule ×4, Electric Wing ×13, Angel Wings ×3, plus 1 extra physical Lightning fruit (used for the last research; a physical Lightning skin also counts).
🎮 3. Combat Tips
- PvP tips: Use F (teleport) to bait moves or close the gap, then stun the enemy with X (Thunderstorm) and follow up with other high-damage skills or sword moves.
- Sword pairing: Many skilled sword users run Lightning without putting most of their points into the Blox Fruit stat, mainly using F for mobility and X for stuns to support their sword damage.
- Air combat limits: Overall it's still more of a ground-control fruit; Z, X and V need good prediction against airborne targets, while C (Sky Judgement) is better for countering enemies hovering in the air.
❓ Lightning Fruit FAQ
Does Lightning still need Raids to awaken?
No. The Rumble Raid has been removed in the current version; Lightning is now upgraded by completing four research tiers in the Admin Panel.
How many resources does it take to max everything?
In total you need 21,500 Fragments, Volt Capsule ×4, Electric Wing ×13 and Angel Wings ×3, plus 1 extra physical Lightning fruit to complete the last research.
What enemies do you need to defeat for Predator Circuit Breaker?
You need to defeat 30 Piranha, not Sea Beasts; Piranha leap out of the water to attack you at sea. Completing it unlocks the effect that lets the thundercloud absorb Lightning Orb and extend its duration.
Are Rumble and Lightning different fruits?
No. Rumble is the pre-rework name and the current name is Lightning; this site only mentions the old name when it helps identify older info.
