Diamond
Diamond is a Natural fruit that combines defense, AoE damage and close-range mobility.
Using Z to enter Diamond form gives you 23% damage reduction while keeping your sword, gun and Fighting Style; the reworked skills are no longer the old diamond hail and solar flare moves.
📍 1. How to Get & Role
This is an Uncommon Natural fruit. It's cheap and suits players who want more survivability.
- Shop price: $600,000 Beli / 1,000 Robux.
- Obtainment: buy it from the Blox Fruit Dealer, roll the Blox Fruit Gacha (the First Sea gacha moved to Middle Town after Update 30), or pick up a spawned fruit under a tree.
- Restrictions: X, C, V and M1 require entering Diamond form with Z first; while transformed, you can still switch to your sword, gun and Fighting Style.
- Role:
- Defense (A): Transforming gives 23% damage reduction, which works with any weapon build.
- Leveling (B): The reworked skills cover more area than the old ones, but long-distance travel is still limited.
- PvP (A-): Damage reduction, M1 mobility, wide-area blinding and damage over time.
💥 2. Skills
Diamond's skills were fully reworked in Update 24; apart from Z, all attacks must be used in Diamond form.
| Key | Skill name | Mastery | Cooldown / Energy | Instinct interaction & use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| M1 | Radiant Lunge | None | 3.5 sec / 25 | Dashes toward your cursor and damages enemies in the path; hitting the ground or a wall leaves an explosive crater. Since official Balance Patch 001, it no longer breaks Instinct, and its cooldown is 20% shorter. |
| Z | Encrust | 1 | 6 sec / 15 | Releases a burst of light as you transform and grants 23% damage reduction; once transformed, tap Z to fire shards and hold it to cancel. Breaks Instinct, though targets at the edge can still dodge. |
| X | Shard Storm | 1 | 12 sec / 25 | Fires a stream of shards; holding increases the count and finishes with a large exploding shard. Breaks Instinct, though targets at the edge of the area can still dodge. |
| C | Shimmering Disruption | 80 | 15 sec / 30 | Reflects a blinding flash that deals AoE damage and blinds for about 3 seconds; official Balance Patch 001 also added a 1-second stun. Breaks Instinct, though targets at the edge can still dodge. |
| V | Prismatic Reflection | 110 | 21 sec / 60 | Creates several diamond mirrors around you that keep firing blue beams at targets in range; can't break Instinct. |
Balance note: Official Balance Patch 001 also cut the damage of all Diamond attacks by 10%; the skill mechanics in the table above reflect that version. The devs also fixed an exploit where tab-switching let Diamond travel far beyond its intended distance; this doesn't mean the normal M1 distance got a separate number change.
The Diamond fruit currently has no Raid awakening and isn't on the Admin Panel research list either. Its new power comes from the skill rework, so you don't need to spend Fragments.
🎮 3. Combat Tips
- Transform first, then attack: Use Z before the fight to get 23% damage reduction; apart from Z, every Diamond attack depends on being transformed.
- Wall burst: M1 creates an AoE explosion when it hits a wall or the ground; combine it with Z and C to pressure enemies in tight spaces.
- Pair it with weapon builds: Transforming doesn't lock your sword, gun or Fighting Style, so you don't have to play Diamond only as a fruit-stat build.
- Follow up after control: C's blind and brief control set up well into X or weapon skills; M1 and V can't break Instinct, so don't use them alone to start a combo.
❓ 4. FAQ
Does the 23% damage reduction apply to every build?
Yes. You can still switch to your Fighting Style, sword and gun in Diamond form, and the damage reduction doesn't require a fruit-main build, so weapon builds benefit too.
Why can't I use the other skills?
M1, X, C and V all require entering Diamond form with Z first; after you hold Z to cancel the transformation, these attacks lock again.
Which moves can't break Instinct?
Since Balance Patch 001, neither M1 nor V (Prismatic Reflection) can break Instinct. Z, X and C still can on a direct hit, but targets at the edge of a skill can still dodge.
Is Diamond good for leveling?
Its range and survivability are good enough, but you have to transform first and its long-distance movement is weak. If leveling speed is all you care about, an Elemental fruit or Buddha is usually more straightforward.
