Once awakened, it has high damage, cage control and aerial swinging, but most skills need aiming. Spider is Natural, so it lacks the Elemental level-based damage immunity.
Get the version names straight first
- 2019/06/30 · Update 3: debuted under the name String.
- Update 13: added the full awakening path.
- Update 19: officially renamed to Spider and reworked most moves; names from old guides such as String and God's Highway are no longer what the game shows.
- Update 20: remade the fruit model.
Official buffs in balance update 001 (Balance Patch 001)
This patch only buffs Z and X in their awakened form; the numbers below don't apply to the unawakened moves:
- Awakened Z “Thermal Laceration”: damage increased by 50%, range by 20% and hitbox by 60%.
- Awakened X “Silk Prison”: hitbox increased by 30% and stun duration by 20%.
Fixed awakening order & total cost
You can't skip around and pick Spider skills yourself. Each time you clear the matching Raid with Spider equipped, the Mysterious Entity offers the next move in this order:
Total 800
Total 3,300
Total 6,800
Total 11,300
Total 17,300
After Z and F, you get swinging movement, good for players who want better mobility first.
Add X, Silk Prison, and your control and combo potential jump noticeably; you can stop here and save Fragments.
Fill in C and V's AoE firepower; afterward you can still use the Awakenings Expert to switch moves back to the old versions one by one.
Unawakened vs. awakened skills
Unawakened: Spider Wraith
Mastery 1. A close-range swipe that summons string claws; both range and hitbox are small.
Awakened: Thermal Laceration
Fires up to four scorching string blades; the longer you hold, the more slashes and damage. Since Balance Patch 001, damage is up 50%, range 20% and hitbox 60%.
800 FragmentsUnawakened: Spider Path
Mastery 15. Creates strings beneath your body so you hover around; it's not a swinging move.
Awakened: Spider Highway
Shoots a string in the direction your character faces and swings; looking up or holding slightly increases the distance, but the lower your health, the worse the speed and distance.
2,500 FragmentsUnawakened: Multi-String Attack
Mastery 50. Pierces from above with multiple strings, giving brief control on hit.
Awakened: Silk Prison
Forms a circular cage that shrinks and slices; holding only increases the cage size and doesn't increase damage. Since Balance Patch 001, the hitbox is up 30% and stun duration 20%.
3,500 FragmentsUnawakened: Over-heated Sniper
Mastery 100. An ultra-long-range string shot that deals more damage the farther it travels, briefly leaving a tripwire hitbox along its path.
Awakened: Eternal White
Raises multiple string spears from the ground that auto-lock at close range; the early hits deal the most damage, and you can't move while casting and can be interrupted.
4,500 FragmentsUnawakened: Ultimate Thread
Mastery 225. Weaves Aura-coated strings into a piercing cone that deals damage and control.
Awakened: Heavenly Punishment
Rapidly fires a mass of cylindrical strings forward; startup is a bit slow, but it keeps targets stunned and deals high damage. You can't move while casting.
6,000 FragmentsWhy do Spider Raids fail so often?
⚠️ High-risk points
- Players at Lv.700+ can join; starting a Raid yourself requires Lv.1100+.
- Regular enemies use unawakened C and V, while the boss uses awakened X, C and V.
- The last two islands are small, so V's stun and C's auto-aim can easily pin you at the edge or knock you into the sea.
- You can get stuck near the houses on the fifth island, so don't cram the whole team into one corner.
✅ Reliable strategy
- Bring a Buddha player to clear mobs and draw the boss's attention.
- Take out the Spider-using enemies with crowd control first instead of only chasing the boss.
- Save a movement skill to deal with the risk of falling into the sea on the fourth and fifth islands.
- Have enough Fragments ready before you start; one clear gives at most 1,000 Fragments, which doesn't guarantee enough for the next move.
Which skill setup is most practical?
Awakened Z/F/X/V + unawakened C. Use X to restrict movement, then use Over-heated Sniper for long range and tripwires.
Full awakening. C and V have better multi-target AoE, but set up control before casting so you don't get interrupted mid-cast.
Get Z/F/X first for 6,800 Fragments. By then you already have damage, mobility and the core cage, so there's no rush to scrape together 17,300.
Cooldown & energy comparison
Compare each move's casting pace and energy cost before and after awakening.
Pros & limitations
Good for you if
- You enjoy aiming, reading movement and aerial combos.
- You're willing to practice landing X control before following up with C/V.
- You want a fruit that costs less than top Mythicals but has a high PVP ceiling.
Not for you if
- You want to level easily with M1 or elemental immunity.
- You're not used to the difference between character facing and cursor aiming.
- You want to rely on F for long-distance escapes even at low health.
- You often cast C/V before locking down your opponent.
